Stephen White Gallery, founded in Los Angeles, has been a stalwart supporter of fine art and historical photography since its inception in 1975. As one of the pioneering photography galleries in the United States, SWG has consistently exhibited the works of renowned photographers worldwide, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of photographic art.

In 1990, the physical gallery closed when Stephen White sold his collection of around 30 thousand images to The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum. Transitioning into a private art dealer and collector, White established a second collection, becoming one of the largest repositories of photographic material covering artists from the 19th and 20th centuries, along with extensive collections spanning various cultural subjects. In addition to gallery operations, White has authored numerous catalogues on photographic themes, accompanying exhibitions in Europe and the United States from 1985 to 2022. He also holds the position of founding president of the International Association of Photography Art Dealers.

Approaching its 50th anniversary in 2025, Stephen White Gallery continues to embody a legacy of commitment to photographic arts and curation.
